March's Decree

Hello to all my Companions, I am very excited that we are so busy with degree work. Thanks to all the Companions for their efforts in making the degree work a success. We are set to put on another degree at our next stated meeting night. That is five new members in the last two months. It was also very nice to see everyone at the brunch on the 16th. I would also like to report that bethel #2 was very pleased to receive a check from us (Kilbourn Chapter #1) for the amount of $840.00 to cover the cost of their garment bags. I’m looking forward to the future in fellowship and brotherly love. . We gather together again on the 6th of March (weather willing) at 7:30. February's Decree

Greetings Companions February is here and we are planning to have our annual holiday brunch on the 16th of this month (a separate notice will be mailed out to you with time and particulars). Practice for our degree is coming along quite well, I am very excited to be a part of this degree. We will be having our degree on February 5th, which is also our stated meeting night make a note the tine change from 7:30 to 7:00 for the degree and 5:00 for dinner at Mykanos Family Restaurant at 8501 W. Capitol Dr. Scholarship applications are starting to be filled out by nursing applicants. I spoke with advisors at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and was told that we should expect applications to be coming soon. I hope everyone is faring well. Fraternally, Art Karos, HP

January's Decree

Greetings Companions I hope that your Christmas was celebrated with warmth and happiness and most importantly togetherness. In an oversight by our Companion Secretary it has been noted that our stated meeting for January falls on the 1st. Needless to say we will not be having this meeting then, notices were mailed out to everyone to adjust their calendars accordingly. Our stated is moved to the 3rd Wednesday which is the 15th. We also have a Mark Master rehearsal planned for that evening everyone should have gotten their assignments in the mail. The Mark Master degree for Bro. Grebe will be held on our February stated on the 5th. The New Year is upon us and perhaps we all had a glorious celebration. We will be going over our budget for the ensuing calendar year as well as the annual report that goes to Grand Chapter. We gather together again on the 15th of January at 7:30. December's Decree

Greetings and salutations my Companions, Unfortunately, this past month I was not able to attend our last stated meeting. I am very much looking forward to the December meeting. Hopefully, through the Carl H. Losse fund, we will be able to give more money to charity this December. I would like to congratulate Companion Khristian Kay for being elected as Worshipful Master at Henry L. Palmer lodge for this following year. I would also like to commend Companion Steven Holmblad on having a great year as Worshipful Master of Henry L. Palmer Lodge. I hear that we have petitions coming in and expect that we will be doing some degree work soon, so we will have to schedule some degree practices. We also will be reconsecrating our temple at the December meeting. And for those of you who are wondering yes we have decided to move our annual holiday brunch to February instead of December as the companions seemed to like this better due to time commitments in December. November's Decree

Greetings my Companions, As November introduces the Wisconsin winter I am very happy to report that we have been able to give over $8,000 since June of this year to charitable endeavors through the Carl H. Losse Fund. As Royal Arch Masons charity is one of the tenets we pursue. I am very happy to have a part in administering that. We have also had more people participating in our Chapter now with degree work on the horizon, and hopefully that number will grow. I am looking forward to November’s meeting do not forget this will be our annual reconsecration ceremony so it is important to be in attendance. I am looking forward to do doing some degree work for newly made Companions remember we meet again on Wednesday November 6th at 7:30 pm with dinner prior to the meeting at Mykano’s (5:30). May's Message

Greetings Companions Hopefully we are done now with those cold April showers and spring is finally in the air. The Grand York Rite annual session is approaching quickly and we need to make our reservations so if you have not as of yet let our Companion Secretary know if you will be attending, do so, so that we can get the paperwork in order. On the 11th we will be having our Illinois/Wisconsin Grand Chapters combined capitular festival in Racine. We have 2 candidates for the degrees, this is a good day to reconnect and encourage our newly exalted companions. Last month we updated our by-laws and copies can be had from our Secretary. We also had our elections and congratulations are in order for Thomas Couture, Kenneth Savadil and Arthur Karos who have been elected to our high council for the ensuing year: Scribe, King and High Priest respectively. Greetings Companions It is official as of last month the Leprechauns were dancing and the tulips are reaching for the sunshine. Our Chapter is busy as we have an MEM degree on the 17th for Bro. Tim Meyer and then the Grand Chapters of Illinois and Wisconsin will be holding their fourth annual interstate capitular festival on Saturday, May 11th. The event will be held at the Racine Masonic Center in Racine, WI. Details are posted on the kilbournchapter.org website and of course will be presented at our stated meeting. This month we will need to vote on our new officer line-up as well as vote on our suggested by-law changes so if you have not made it to Chapter lately this would be a nigh time to get reacquainted, provide suggestions and insight on how we run our Chapter for the ensuing year and welcome your companions. March's Message

Greetings Companions March finds us again standing about the hearth for warmth. But around the hearth we find good friends and counsel. Our February Sweetheart Brunch was a rousing success! We had a great attendance and a good sharing of spirits many had suggested we keep this event for February instead of the Christmas Brunch. Companions share your insights with the Chapter. Our next meeting will see talk of updating our by-laws to make them current with the Grand Chapter resolutions. If you have questions come to the meeting and we will discuss. In April we will be voting in a new High Council as well as putting on the Most Excellent Master Degree for Bro. Tim Meyer. Much work needs to be done as well as rehearsals. Greetings Companions We can finally agree that winter has arrived in Wisconsin! While not good for the environment we can hope for a repeat of last year’s unseasonal warmth. February is here and we are planning to have our annual holiday brunch sometime this month (a separate notice will be mailed out to you with time and date). In only 4 short meetings we will be again electing our next line of officers to lead our Chapter. We also will be putting on a Most Excellent Master degree in March or April. And the 4th annual Wisconsin and Illinois Grand Chapter R.A.M. Degree Festival will be held May 11th at 8:00 at the Racine Masonic Center (details can be found on our website www.kilbournchapter.org). We currently have one candidate it would be nice to see several more, I challenge every companion to seek out at least one other brother to join our Chapter and the fellowship membership affords. December's Message

Greetings Companions It has been a busy time for our Chapter we Advanced Brother Timothy Meyer to the honorary degree of Mark Master and I am told that the degree was presented well. This puts us in line to present the Past Master degree at our next stated meeting on December 5th. Remember the dress for this degree is tuxedo or black business suit, (bring your Past Master apron if you can find it!) Due to complications both personal and fraternal our annual Christmas Brunch will be set aside until after the New Year. Companions let us hold fast to that moral compass and the designs laid out for us in the Masonic trestleboard and hold all of our friends, family and those who have yet to become our friends in gentle remembrance as we move into this holiday season. Message for June

Greetings Companions Summer will be here soon and with it those festivities we plan for our summer months: fishing, camping, star gazing, alien visitations, gardening etc. And to allow for more time for these wonderful Wisconsin summers our chapter will be going “dark” for July and August. The Grand York Rite annual session is in a few weeks and as you recall Companion Bill Kraatz will be presiding as the Grand High Priest, this is quite an honor and we must congratulate Companion Bill. Our humble chapter has the honor of opening the Grand Chapter sessions this year and a final rehearsal will be at our June 6th meeting. Also on the 6th we will be having our installation of officers for the 2012-2013 year. Congratulations are due to all of our new officers. So if you have not made it to Chapter lately this would be an excellent time to get reacquainted: congratulate are new officers, again congratulate Companion Bill, provide suggestions and insight on how we run our Chapter for the ensuing year and commiserate with your companions. Speaking of commiserating we had a delightful time at our Chapter dinner honoring Companion Bill at the Fox and Hounds restaurant. It is always good to gather with friends. Greetings Companions

It is official as of last month, “Spring is here!” The Grand York Rite annual session is approaching quickly and we will be honoring the Grand Chapter with our own Bill Kraatz as the outgoing Most Excellent Grand High Priest. The Grand Chapters of Illinois and Wisconsin will hold their third annual interstate capitular festival on Saturday, May 12th, at which time the Order of the Sword of Bunker Hill will also be offered. The tentative plan is to host the event at the new Scottish Rite Cathedral in Bloomingdale, IL. Details will be forthcoming, we are still trying to get some new companions however the Order of the Sword is open to all Master Masons and traveling to this event may be a worthwhile refresher. This month we will need to vote on our new officer line-up and do not forget the Testimonial dinner in honor of Companion William Kraatz is taking place at the Fox and Hounds restaurant on April 25th. Fellowship at 5 pm dinner at 6:30. So if you have not made it to Chapter lately this would be a nigh time to get reacquainted: congratulate Companion Bill, provide suggestions and insight on how we run our Chapter for the ensuing year and welcome your companions. There has been a suggestion to change our by-laws to accommodate the resolution passed by the Grand Chapter concerning dues collected by the General Grand Chapter for every new companion exalted. It has been moved that we add this fee to the costs of our degree work. In order to further this we will need to have a vote by the companions and our next stated in March. If you have questions come to the meeting and we will discuss. In April we will also be voting and installing a new High Council. As we continue to carve our ashlars remember that this year we have the special honor of having Companion Bill as Grand High Priest and with that our responsibilities as his home chapter will be called upon. It is pertinent that all companions gather for our meetings so that we may work on our ritual as at the annual communication we will need to perform it in front of all of our chapter companions. By the chill in my bones I fear the winter season is upon us! But nothing garners warmth like that of friendship and good conversation. Even bad conversations amongst friends is still warming! Let us rejoice in these things then as we forage through this holiday madness. As Companions we should take it all in stride and share the moments with good cheer and warm feelings. Which can also be expressed at our annual Christmas brunch at the Silver Spring Country Club on December 18^th. As is ritualistic throughout the world this is a great time for our Royal Arch family to get together and share the wonders of life with each other. November's Decree

Greetings Companions

November is rearing its cold blustery head and what better way to reconcile the cold than with a good hot bowl of chili? This year we are participating in the Henry L. Palmer Chili Cook off on November 13^th a 5 pm. Come and join in the festivities as we assist the Blue Lodge in their charity endeavor. We will also be installing our newest officers for the year at our regularly stated meeting. Our Christmas brunch is tentatively scheduled for the 18^th of December again at the Silver Spring Country Club. Times are changing along with the leaves soon winter will hold us in her frosty grip.
